For the past 30 years or so, I have often listened to consumers speak about the value of jewelry as a gift.  Not only have I been in the jewelry industry for over thirty years, but I have been with my wife for that many years, as well.  So sometimes, I look to her for answers and ideas relating to jewelry.

It seems it is true, that jewelry is a gift that will last forever.  My wife tells me so, and of course I believe her.  But to prove her point, she decided to do a bit of research on the subject.  Here is a tidbit of what she came up with, so listen up guys, and read on!

The World Gold Counsel did an actual survey among women who regard jewelry as more than a suitable gift.  As a matter of fact, nearly 75% of women agree that a gift of gold jewerly is considerd to be an everlasting gift.  The survey was conducted in India, Saudi Arabia, China, Turkey, Italy, and in the USA.  Over 7,500 women between the ages of 15 and 65 were surveyed.  Each of these women were asked to identify theire favorite occasions for receiving jewerly.  And many of those surveyed responded favorably to receiving gifts of gold jewelry even in economically tough times.  They believe that a gift of gold jewelry represents true love, even in the toughest of times.  Gold jewerly as a gift is considered “everlasting and timeless”.

There is truly something about jewelry that represents romance, and what woman doesn’t want romance in her life, right?

So when do these women want to receive gifts of gold jewelry?  Any time, they responded, especially for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day and weddings.  And of course those surveyed agreed that they would buy jewelry for themselves for these occasions as well as others.

So I guess my wife is right again.  Maybe I should consider buying her a gift; a gift of gold jewelry perhaps?
