Eternal Platinum Exhibition at Covent Garden, London
-
A major International exhibition of platinum wedding rings heads to London later this month.
Featuring rings created by some of the most celebrated Italian designers, ‘Eternal Platinum: The Ultimate Symbol of Love’ is on display at I.N.C Space, Covent Garden between 8th and 12th June, as part of the Coutts London Jewelry Week.
The unique collection recently took Milan by storm, and contains wedding rings created by seven jewelry designers, seven architects and seven fashion designers, who all had the aim of creating the ‘ultimate symbol of love’, using platinum - the world’s most enduring precious metal.
Platinum is 95% pure, rare (30 times rarer than gold) and eternal. Because it is so pure it does not fade or tarnish, and has a brilliant white lustre. It is also steeped in symbolism and chosen by many to express their eternal love, making it the material of choice for many of the world’s top jewelry designers such as Cartier and Faberge.
In addition to the fantastic display of wedding rings, the exhibition showcases a full range of sketches from the design phase to the production phase of the pieces, revealing the role that each Italian expert played in the finished products. The individual personality of the each creator can be seen from these drawings, which display many individual interpretations of ‘real love’.
Members of the public can view the display at I.N.C. Space, 9-13 Grape Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 8ED, from Tuesday 9th June (10:00 - 19:00), Wednesday 10th June (10:00 - 14:00) and Thursday 11th June (10:00 - 16:00).
